But I've been tidying, and reorganising, so realised I could probably move the backstrap warp onto the loom... Gave it a go, it isn't possible (for technical weavy reasons! ) but having taken that first step, I had the start I needed to properly switch the warp.
oops. This is about halfway through, and it looks and feels like chaos. I'm separating the strands of the warp, (bottom) and snipping new heddles (top). There was no realistic way to keep the warp in order when doing this (that's what the piece of orange yarn was trying to do! No wonder getting started feels like such a big task. It's not actually taken that long, but the thought of making the mess worse to be able to restart was HUGE.
(you can see here that I was trying to do that early on! It just got more and more tangled the more I tried!)
because trying to follow the path with each single length of warp and hold it on the pegs, and try to manage the thread bundle was just too much.
So I worked out what was really essential, and dealt with the mess of things I didn't have enough hands for, a small but at a time.
